• We successfully launched a static website (many, many thanks to all of you for your support) at http://www.csi-expertise.com/ using the Black Globe theme.

I noticed that the initial link to the HOME link on the nav bar is the sample post that is provided when you first install WordPress. If I deleted that post, I had no access to the content that displays for the HOME link. Purely, by default, our home page is actually the default first post.

When I deleted it and created a new page labeled as HOME, then 2 home page links appeared on the nav bar and I had no way that I could see to modify or remove the first HOME (post) link.

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this post and replace it with a HOME page, not post? We also want to change the link label from HOME to whatever language translations we’ll add.

    Thanks!

  • I’m not familiar with the Theme you are using, but I would still start by looking in the WP Admin panel, on the left sidebar, under Settings, click on Reading.

If you haven’t already, change “Front page displays” to “A Static Page” and select the HOME page you just created.

Yes, I’ve done that. In fact, you’ll see it now at http://www.csi-expertise.com/lang/en-us/home/

I deleted the post and now there are 2 HOME pages. Now I can’t access the post because it’s really deleted from the admin area. HELP!

I fixed it! I’m doing pretty well for someone who doesn’t know PHP…yet! Thanks for your help.
