    Hi All,

I'm trying to setup a multisite blog network using a subdomain name as the base blog.

I have done this on an external server and got it working.

But I am having trouble with a second setup up at work. What I need to try and figure out is whether there is something wrong with the WP setup or something wrong when the domain/sub-domain and server were setup (not by me).

I'm using the Domain Mapping plugin by Otto.

When I go to log into the second sites dashboard, the pages refreshes but it does not log me in, it does not give any errors with or without debug on. If it use an incorrect username or password I get an error saying:

"ERROR: Invalid username. Lost your password?
ERROR: Cookies are blocked or not supported by your browser. You must enable cookies to use WordPress."

But the front end works fine.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

That plugin isn't by Otto, if you're meaning http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-mu-domain-mapping/ - Otto just wrote a nice tutorial ;)

So you're mapping domain2.com to domain2.domain.com then, and you can't log in at domain2.com/wp-admin, is that correct?

Can you log in at domain2.domain.com/wp-admin?

Oops sorry, for some reason I thought it was his work.

    Thanks for your reply.

No, basically, because the main site is on subdomain1.domain.com when I create a second site, WP wants it to be subdomain2.subdomain1.domain.com so I edit the site to be subdomain2.domain.com and use the domain mapping tool to map the domain name to site id 2.

    Am I doing it wrong?

Y'know, I have no idea if you can map them like that.

I DO know that you should never EDIT the site to be subdomain2.domain.com though. Leave it as subdomain2.subdomain.domain.com and then map it to subdomain2.domain.com via the plugin.

If that still doesn't work, then no, you can't do that.

Yeah, then what you're doing 'wrong' is that if you want sitename.domain.com then you MUST install WP in domain.com

Are you sure you fixed all of the instances in which you manually changed the site address?
