• Hi there,

I was in my dashboard this evening when I saw the notification to update to the latest version of WP (3.4 I think?). Stupidly I went ahead with it – I usually wait for my host GoDaddy to send me an email to update.

I clicked this and it took me to a page on my site and displayed: Page not found.

The URL looked like this: http://tfortabitha.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php?_wp_http_referer=%2Fwp-admin%2Fadmin.php%3Fpage%3Dstats

Unfortunately I am a complete tech novice so have NO IDEA whatsoever what to do. Plus I don’t really get most of the terminology used in all the forums so they haven’t been much assistance.

If anyone can help me out of my blog crisis it would be so greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

  • Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

    Hello,

(I am having the same issue.) I am curious to know if the solutions Esmi provided worked for you?
    Please post if it worked.

    Thanks,
    lisa

@socgrrrl: Please post your own topic.

Why? It’s the same issue/problem. I am curious to see if she resolves it.
Why start another thread if it’s the exact same issue?

Yes, I’m new here and trying to find answers to an annoying problem, the very same one posted by the OP.

Are you using the same version of WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme & configurations as the original poster?

    No?

Then help us to help you by posting a new topic.

    Thanks everyone for your help!

Woke up this morning and saw that WordPress put out a patch. Have installed 3.4.1 and all seems to be right in my blogging world again!

@socgrrrl: Hope yours is back and working too! 🙂
