   I am having a bit of a hard time. I am trying to activate a downloaded theme for the first time.

   I configured the wp-config document and also uploaded all wordpress documents on my FTP. Furthermore, I have uploaded all of the theme files in wp-content/themes.

   Everytime I try to log on to mydomainname.com/wp-admin, it takes me to the general wordpress dashboard, where I can select a collection of themes, rather than the default, classic, or downloaded theme I have.

   I am unsure why I cannot get to the admin panel, but would greatly appreciate any assistance.

   did you install some new plugin befor you have this probelem, if yes, try to deactivate or rename it all.
   Also try to change your browser, perhaps the browser remember the last action you do.

   I have not yet installed any pulg-ins because I haven't had the opportunity to even use my admin panel yet.

   I will try changing my browser, though.

   Thanks for the advice...I will keep trying.
