Can you use more than one theme for the same website? (4 posts)

I'm new to WordPress. I am working on an existing website that already has a theme associated with it. However, I will be creating a new home page and need to have it with a different header and will be changing the existing About pages to the new theme. However, the existing blog (which is currently the home page) needs to retain the current theme it is using. I downloaded a new theme, however, I read that if you Activate the new them, it becomes the new look of the site. How do I create my new home page with the new theme but ensure my existing blog page keeps the already existing theme? Thanks for your help!

I'm pretty sure WP doesn't support that... at least, not without writing a bunch of custom code. You could try looking for a plugin that will do what you're looking for if you haven't already.

Or you could use custom page templates with a custom header & footer. Throw in some extra CSS and you're done.

That's what I meant by "custom code"... unless someone has made a plugin to do it for you I don't know of any way to do this without customizing the template as Esmi suggested.
