Thanks for creating this sweet plug-in!

My question is whether or not you can create a typical “post” and then simply link to a newly created recipe (from your plug-in?)

Currently, it seems like you can create a recipe… and by default, that creates a “post” with the same name. Though, once you Publish this recipe, it becomes public/available on your blog as a post.

Ultimately, I am looking to create a typical blog post (let’s say Cookies) and then link to a recipe or two I just created via your plug-in (say oatmeal raisin & choc chip). However, I can’t find the recipe under the little chef hat icon in my usual post section because I haven’t “published” the recipe yet. I don’t want to publish the recipe and make it live yet…I want to make it live once I’ve published the POST.

My ultimate concern is if there is any trouble with the plug-in in the future or if I reactive it, it seems like I could lose the Posts along with the “Likes” I have associated with it. That is why I am looking to embed the recipe into a blog post itself.

    Thanks for your help!

correction in last paragraph…concern is if there is any support trouble in the future or if i “DE-ACTIVATE” the plug-in, it looks like I’ll lose the normal text post (i.e. the long version, not just the bottom recipe card).

With some plug-ins, you create your typical blog post and then you embed the recipe into it. Is this possible without first publishing the recipe?

    Hi there,

    Thanks!

There’s a “Recipes act as Posts “setting in the Recipe > Admin page. This is turned on by default and basically means that recipes are just like normal posts. They appear in the posts section as well, but it’s actually the same thing.

You can turn this setting off and just include the recipes with the shortcode editor (chef’s hat icon). You could add multiple as well then.

    Kind regards,
    Brecht
