Can you customize Jetpack Subscriptions?

Hi,

I installed the Jetpack subscriptions widget on to my self hosted blog, and put in my work email address to test it out. I received a “Confirm Follow” email immediately. I was wondering if there was some sort of hack or a plugin that would allow my subscribers to avoid this verification step? It’s annoying and I don’t think I need it.

The next issue was that once I did confirm that I did indeed want to follow my blog, the next email I received was a subscription confirmation email. Again, annoying. I don’t want to inundate my new subscribers with a bunch of pointless, spammy emails if I can help it.

If anyone out there has any pointers on how 1) I can get rid of the email verification step or 2) how I may be able to customize my subscription confirmation message (the second email I got) IF I can’t get rid of it altogether, that would be wonderful and much appreciated. Thank you!
