Can you control the zoom in the viewer? (6 posts)

Is there a way to control the zoom percentage so that the document can be larger in the frame? For example, the document is set to "fit-in-frame" view, but I want to set it to 100% regardless of whether that shows the full page or not.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks for the great plugin!

    Hi Russell,

Glad you find the plugin useful. I've experimented with what you're asking for, if I understand correctly - to load the viewer zoomed in more than it is by default. (If I'm missing your point, please try again with my apologies...)

Google's viewer has some rather sophisticated JavaScript (at least, it looks that way to me) that resizes the document according to the size of its frame - so that the document is clear whether it's viewed large or small. This resizing happens on the fly, and I haven't figured out how to interrupt it. I'll keep working on it, but at the moment it's not possible to control the zoom level of the document when it loads with GDE - short of actually clicking the zoom button, of course.

    Hello kevin,

First all all, thanxs fir this plugin!

I'm a bit late but i have the same request (ie: modify the default zoom). Did you find some nice workaround to modify it ?

    regards,

    Fabrice

    Hi Fabrice,

Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately there remains no useful way to modify the default zoom. I had planned to build an alternate viewer (break out of Google's mold) to introduce this ability, but the codebase of the underlying Google Viewer technology has been very unstable over the last several months. So I've spent a lot of time tracking down and patching things, and in some cases eliminating features I used to be able to support. I wish I could say that bode well for the future of this plugin, but it definitely makes it difficult to pursue new features.

Wish I had a better answer to give, but that's the current reality!
