    Hi everyone,

I just downloaded a theme that has a separate composer other than the standard visual text editor box that comes with wordpress. Unfortunately, you have to paste content into the box with all the css formatting tags already in place.

    Theme:

I’m wondering if there is a way to copy the text formatting toolbar in wordpress and apply it to another text field? I just want to have simple buttons like bold, italic, lists, etc. It would be great to have the ability to upload pictures too just like in the normal text editor.

I’m not sure how to go about doing this or if it’s even possible. I looked at trying to straight copy the php for the text editor but I’m not skilled enough at PHP to make it work.

Has anyone tried to do this before?

Thanks in advance for all your help. Please let me know if you need more info.

  • As this is a commercial theme, we cannot really help. You need to seek support from the theme vendors.

Sorry, I wasn’t very clear in my post.

The theme that I downloaded got me wondering if I could add the visual editor buttons to custom fields that I add myself later if I want. Like if I wanted to have the visual editor buttons added to the text field for the blank text widget or if I wanted to create a text field somewhere else, could I add the buttons to that?

I’m not looking to change this current theme. I’m just thinking about writing my own in the future and I didn’t know if it was possible to apply the visual editor to other areas with text fields.

Does that make sense? Perhaps it’s not possible, I’m just curious to see if anyone had done it and if it worked.

    In theory, it’s do-able, yes.
