[resolved] Can wp-members do this? (3 posts)

    Chad,
I'm pretty sure wp-members can do the following because you do it in the plugin site but I can't get it to work -
The site I'm working on offers a subscription-type service so they intend the registration to be followed by a subscription purchase. The login credentials are collected at that time. So user creation is integrated with registration. That means that when a user is logged in they must have registered, so we don't want to show the register links at all in a login page or widget or for that matter, anywhere. To register, the user goes to a Join page which has the registration shortcode. Right now I have the "Turn off registration" option set, but that doesn't seem to turn off the register link in the login form or the widget. Can you (or anyone else) help me get there? Many thanks.
P.S. I will get the premium option to get PayPal, but I need to make sure that these details work properly before I fully commit to this plugin.

    I'm not sure I understand.

That means that when a user is logged in they must have registered, so we don't want to show the register links at all in a login page or widget or for that matter, anywhere.

If a user is not logged in, we don't know who they are or if they have ever registered. So we show a register link on the login form to allow a new user to easily find how to register.

If the user is logged in, then they won't be seeing the login form anyway, so therefore they are not seeing the link.

The plugin option for specifying the location of your registration page is what creates this link. Empty that value and it goes away.

In looking back at my post and your response, I can see I didn't explain what I meant too well. But clearing the url for the registration page did the trick. Thanks!
