Can WP emulate Movable Type Community Solution feature set?

    Hi there. For an upcoming project, I really like the feature set of MT’s new (costly) Community Solution. In particular the Community Blogs (reader contributed content), Forums (discussions), and Recommend (voting) aspects are of interest to me.

    So, my question is – has anyone used WP for a site with all/some of these features? How far from “out of the box” is doing something like this? Available plugins? Custom Code? Etc.

    I think I like the ideology behind WP better and that it’s OSS and pure PHP, but MTCS seems to fit the bill in a one-stop kind of way.

    Convince me WP can do it and is the way to go and I’ll do it. 😉
