i am making this project..its not a personal project, its a project awarded to my company and my boss give freedom to me to develop this project.
brief of the project:
its like a hotel directory for one country. not only a directory, it also will include nearest attractions, and also with lifestyle news and happenings to the nearest area the visitors find in the website. i can say its like a complete hotel directory with concierge as well.
so, basically visitor can start search from States, then Cities, and inside cities there are the hotels and other venues.
My Questions:
- I am so in love and die hard fan of WordPress, even my boss prefer Joomla, i told him WordPress is better and more flexible and i think i can learn the WordPress framework in lesser time than i need to learn Joomla framework. The question here is can WordPress do all the things i mention above? At least as the platform, i am expected a few customization works such as special plugin needs to be develop.
- How long do u think i can complete the site if i choose WordPress as the platform?
- How difficult it is (the learning curve) if i need to develop my own plugin? (i have basic PHP knowledge)
- Is there any free plugins out there closest to my requirement? At least i dont have to do from scratch
