    Can WooCommerce be used as catalog-only, without add-to-cart functionality?

    Thanks!

    Yes it can and would require some modifications.

    Do I understand you right that there is no setting or plugin for that, but this requires hiring a programmer?

    Thanks

    Off the top of my head it would probably require a combination of changing settings and some coding. And this would also depend on the theme you're using. Shouldn't be too hard to achieve though. You can head over to http://jobs.wordpress.net/ and ask if this can be done for you.

    No this cannot be done out of the box.

    It can however be done with some customisation or with our Catalog Visibility Options extension; http://www.woothemes.com/products/catalog-visibility-options/

    Thanks

    James - with the plugin, would there be an option to turn on individual products for the ability to sell while leaving other products in the catalog form?

    If not out of the box, is there a way to make it happen with customizing?

    You will be laughing, but this helped me

    form.cart {
    display: none!important;
    }

    :)

    @alex.me
    Where to ad that code

    form.cart {
    display: none!important;
    }

    @finc:

    That code is simply a css-style to make that "add to cart" button/function area invisible to the visitors.
    So you can add it into your theme's style.css or custom.css files.

    But that mentioned extension is a much better way to control that functionality. It has some more abilities like hiding the ecommerce funtions from guests/visitors but showing everything to logged in customers, etc...

    Use this snippet in your themes functions.php

    remove_action('woocommerce_single_product_summary','woocommerce_template_single_add_to_cart',30);
