  • it will be in 1.1
If you are interested, you can get the 1.1 beta in the nightly release.

Yes we can. This option is in the Categories menu of the Admin page. Look for something like “Category Parent”. This feature is in the nightly builds, but I don’t recall if it’s in the Miles 1.01 release. ^_^

If you have a Category, say “Sports” and then a sub-category, say “Football” – well if you post something to “Football”, unless you have a post already posted in “Sports”, the link to the “Football” sub-category will not appear. In otherwords it seems that you have to have a post in the parent category for the child category link to appear. Don’t know if it is a bug, but thought I’d point it out anyway.

What version are you using? It works just fine for me. I have a couple of sub cats and no postings in the parent, and they all show jsut fine for me. – actually, I take that back, I do have one post in the parent, but even before that, it still worked just fine for me. –
I’d recommend getting the latest nightly (if memory serves me right, I think this was a bug that had been fixed)…. and see if it still happens.

    Hello.
I was using the stable version. I ran the installation and on the first page I see this message:
    SQL/DB Error:
[You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘http://developer.apple.com/documentation/macos8/TextIntlSvcs/Te%5D
    INSERT INTO wp_options (option_id, option_name, option_type, option_value, option_description, option_admin_level) VALUES (93, ‘blog_charset’, 3, ‘utf-8’, ‘Your blog’s charset (here’s a list of possible charsets)’, 8)
    Step 1
There’s actually only one step. So if you see this, you’re done. Have fun!
    Is that error normal?

@mootilda: Not common, but the CVS has a fix for it. Alternatively, you could open install.php inside your wp-admin folder and look for ‘http://developer.apple.com/documentation within the single quotes. Just add a blackslash before each single quote (only around the apple link) and run the install again.

Would running the install [or upgrade in my case] again after its already done ruin or affect anything?

In relation to the Categories/Sub-Categories – we’re running one of the latest nightly builds – about I think it was from 19th or 20th Feb. 2004.
