Hi. Does anybody know if VideoPress can work on a non-WordPress site? I have an InMotion site and I've installed WordPress on it. Also, is VideoPress the only way I can upload videos to mi site?

The videos would need to be present in the loop (the posts and pages) for the quicktags used by the plugin to work, but can use each video's HTML embed code to embed it anywhere without the plugin.

Also, is VideoPress the only way I can upload videos to mi site?

No, there are plenty of other options: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tags/video

    I prefer this for self-hosted videos: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/degradable-html5-audio-and-video/

and this for third-party videos: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/vipers-video-quicktags/

Thank you for your answer. "Self-hosted video"- does this refer to videos I upload myself from iMovie, and the "third-party videos"- are they the videos I've (or someone else has) uploaded to YouTube?
Also, would I ever need more video plugins than these two (Degradable HTML5 and Viper's Video Quicktags) or would they do it for me?

Also, is there a particular BuddyPress theme that would work best for having a site primarily concerning showcasing videos?

    That's correct.

Nope, that's a winning combination right there.

Also, is there a particular BuddyPress theme that would work best for having a site primarily concerning showcasing videos?

It would probably be better to ask that in the BuddyPress support forums:

Do the two video plugins you suggested require certain widgets? How do I get them to work?

Well, you have to install and activate them first.

Viper's Video Quicktags adds button to the post interface, and you can configure the plugin in its settings panel.

Degradable HTML5 audio and video is a little bit more involved, but everything is detailed on its plugin page: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/degradable-html5-audio-and-video/
