• I’ve never used wordpress multisite or MU before, so I’m not sure if what I want/need is achievable.

I don’t want a blog network like wordpress.com where members register to have their own blog…

    What I want, is:
I will have a main wordpress site, and 3 more wordpress sites. When users registers on the main wordpress site, I want them to automatically have access to the 3 additional wordpress sites.
They can only leave comments and stuff accross all 4 sites if they are registered, and when clicking on their name, it must go to a profile page, not a blog like wordpress.com

In short, I don’t want users to signup for their own blog. I want them to just sign up as a member to my blogs… and automatically have access to all of them. They must not have their own blog, just a profile page.

If wordrpess multisite can’t do this. Is there any plugins you can recommend?

  • Yes, multisite can do this. THe registration option has a setting for user signups only.

If you want a profile page, you may want to look at buddypress as well.
