    Hello,
    I need the following:
    Only 1 post on the frontpage. Every post has 1 image.
    The other posts plus their images should be in the archive.
    The special thing: The attached image should not be somewhere in the text I enter. The image should have a fixed position somewhere above the post. The post is meant as a description.
    Is that possible? What settings to I have to use, what modifications do I need?
    I've visited the Wiki and found some hacks but none of them does what i need.

    Sounds like a photolog ?
    Here's one: http://herbrokentoy.com/clog/
    And it's Pictorialis II that powers that.

    Any good ?

    Yeah, but that's a bit too much :)
    I figured out, how I can do it.
    I changed the function the_meta() to

    function the_meta() {
    global $id, $post_meta_cache;
    if ($keys = get_post_custom_keys()) {
    foreach ($keys as $key) {
    $values = array_map('trim',$post_meta_cache[$id][$key]);
    $value = implode($values,', ');
    return $value;
    }
    }
    }

    Now I can echo that image in the template with

    <img src="<?php echo the_meta('image'); ?>" />

    and that works.
    Now I just need a hack which allows me to upload pictures directly from the 'Write' page :)
