Can the Forums switch to OLD Gravatars?!

    I want to start off by saying that I love these Forums, and I wouldn’t be writing this if I didn’t appreciate them or didn’t care.

    I used to be a relatively-active volunteer, but I have not had time to visit here and help for a long time. In the mean time, wordpress.org went through an upgrade, and these Forums have much improved in many ways.

    However, there is one aspect of the new setup that I do not like.
    Why did the “no-such-user” Gravatar change from the “mystery man” type to the new weird monster type that we have now?

    I do not have a Gravatar, because I don’t want to apply for one right now. I do not really want to be represented by an extremely bizarre creature, here in these Forums or anywhere else.

    I humbly implore the developers of the site to switch the global option back, or at least to give users some kind of option in their profile 🙂
