    Thanks so much numeeja!

    Here is my nightmare

    Domain Name Server Hosting already Setup with temporary index.html home page
    Downloaded Version 2.8.6 using Mac & Control Panel MySQL
    (Found Template at http://wordpresstemplates.name/ downloaded but not uploaded to server as yet)
    Created Database at cPanel MySQL as " bakuncra_bbcasb " and user name was only "bbcsb" but after setting showed "bakuncra_bbcasb"
    Configured the wp-config-sample.php file as follows:
    /** The name of the database for WordPress */
    define('DB_NAME', 'bakuncra_bbcasb');
    /** MySQL database username */
    define('DB_USER', 'bakuncra_bbcasb');
    /** MySQL database password */
    define('DB_PASSWORD', 'mypassword');
    /** MySQL hostname */
    define('DB_HOST', 'localhost');
    _____________________saw these but didn't change...
    /** Database Charset to use in creating database tables. */
    define('DB_CHARSET', 'utf8');
    /** The Database Collate type. Don't change this if in doubt. */
    define('DB_COLLATE', '');

    Uploaded WordPress files to the cPanel - public_html/wordpress
    Noticed that my existing index.html file so deleted temporarily.
    Went to website http://www.bakuncraft.com and only blank page showed

    Tried to go to WordPress Editor at http://www.bakuncraft.com/wordpress/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bakuncraft.com%2Fwordpress%2Fwp-admin%2F

    PAGE SHOWED:
    There doesn't seem to be a wp-config.php file. I need this before we can get started. Need more help? We got it. You can create a wp-config.php file through a web interface, but this doesn't work for all server setups. The safest way is to manually create the file.
    Create a Configuration File (clicked on this) and filled in the configuration...

    PAGE SHOWED:
    We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the bbcsb_bakuncra_bbcasb database.

    Are you sure it exists?
    Does the user bakuncra_bbcasb have permission to use the bbcsb_bakuncra_bbcasb database?
    On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_bbcsb_bakuncra_bbcasb. Could that be the problem?

    tried alternative User Name bbcsb_bakuncra_bbcasb
    PAGE SHOWED:
    Can’t select database
    We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the bakuncra_bbcasb database.

    SO HERE I AM AT THE FORUM & HOPE YOU CQAN HELP THANKS!

    Confirm with your web hosting company that you have the correct details for: db server, db name & password, and also that the permissions for the user are correct.

    And also don't forget to CONNECT the user to the database. I've been working with WP and other scripts for over six years now and I often in my haste forget this critical step!

    Dear numeeja & jonimueller,

    Many thanks for your kind help and it worked! I had thought the user was there but I had to add another with via the MySQL on the cPanel. My mentor here had suggested the same...

    The odd thing was that it created another Website on WordPress rather than on the site I wanted to use it on... I'm going to try and shift/replace the current "index.html" with the new "index.php" & hope it works... any suggestions?

    Again, thanks for all the help!

    Huh? WHAT created another website on WordPress? What does your wp-config.php file say? Do you have your database and user properly referenced there?

    Thanks again joni - sorry for the confusion as I'm new at this... I must have been half-asleep & realized that I created the page on the correct server and finally found a theme-template to use. Once I have put up some content I will try & change the settings so that the new home & link pages will come-up from the actual site address without the /wordpress... really appreciate your kind help!
