Hello, I have installed WordPress and have cPanel.
My site is now showing on
"http://www.mysite.com/wordpress" (which is where the files are located in the cPanel database).
I obviously want it to be simply "http://www.mysite.com" and thus lose the /wordpress extension.
I have tried changing it in the WordPress "settings" area:
WordPress address (URL) "http://www.mysite.com/wordpress"
Blog address (URL) "http://www.mysite.com/wordpress" Enter the address here if you want your blog homepage to be different from the directory you installed WordPress.
However, when I change it here, the blog goes all funny and I get a strange page like this:
Index of /
* cgi-bin/
* images/
* postinfo.html
* wordpress/
Then if I try to do a redirect in cPanel as follows:
"http://www.mysite.com/wordpress"
redirects to -->
"http://www.mysite.com"
I get a more serious 404 error message.
Can anyone help? THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
P.S. (The " " are there just for explanation purposes).
