   I just want to be able to post misc stuff in a category but not have it muck up all the other posts on my home page, can I do that somehow? TIA!

   thanks samboll but I don't think that does what I want. that plugin seems to hide the category nav only, but what I want is to *have* the category nav, but not have any *posts* from that category show up on the home page. any ideas there?
