I’m trying to restore database from backup. I’v successfully decrypted it, but in restore process (trough wordpress plugin) I’ve got an error (probably table prefixes are wrong). Ok, I’m trying to open this file (.gz) with 7zip, but I can’t – error. Why?

    Hi,

Was it downloaded from dashboard of a site showing a ‘whitespace’ warning? (http://updraftplus.com/problems-with-extra-white-space/) Try downloading directly via FTP or from the cloud storage vendor’s website (i.e. Dropbox etc.) instead.

No, I didn’t had whitespace warning. I downloaded it from Dropbox.

    Hi,

If you email the database file to contact@updraftplus.com then I will be able to give further guidance. Please include a link to this forum thread so that I know who you are!

    Hi vijai3d,

I don’t think that file is successfully decrypted… its contents don’t resemble at all a valid gzip file. A valid gzip file begins with the byte sequence 1f 8b 08 – that file doesn’t contain that byte sequence anywhere.

If you send me the original unencrypted file and the decryption key I can take a look.

    Hi,

It seems like I’m having the samw problem here, and I don’t get the white space warning either. I did try to deactive all the other plugins just to be sure. When trying to unzip the file I get “… not in gzip format”. As David said it doesn’t seem like it is decrypted. I checked the updraftplus log for that session and the last part of it is not readable at all.

Did you find out what the problem really is?
