Yesterday a blog editor/contributor of mine added a post to our blog (text content and one jpg). Today, when attempting to login she nor I can not access the wp-login.php page. The BLOG IS STILL RUNNING to the public, we just can’t access any login/admin pages.

When I try to login I either get:
Chrome: Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to 127.0.0.1 Try reloading: 127.0.0.1/blog/wp-login.php
Internet Explorer: This page can’t be displayed •Make sure the web address http://www.edgeworksclimbing.com is correct.

Any suggestions on how to get to the login page?

    Some notes:
    -Site: http://www.edgeworksclimbing.com/blog/
-Wordpress site has been up and running for years (with no problems).
-Occasionally I have updated to the latest version (last time was a few months ago).
-We have a facebook plugin as well as a future post plug-in running (I don’t know exactly which ones since I can’t access the admin panel to look).
-I deactivated all plugins via phpmyadmin > wp_options > active_plugins (I removed the entry), but no change.
-The last change to the database was yesterday by someone who posted a blog post (person does not have admin rights, can only contribute/edit).

  • That’s evidently a problem with your hosting company – see:

Sounds exactly the same. I am a 1and1 customer also… I will start a support ticket with them and hopefully they can resolve.

    Thank you.

I’m on 1and1.com and am experiencing the same issues as we speak. I was able to log in successfully many times over the past few days, however.

I too have logged a ticket with 1and1.com.

I am, however, using the Jetpack plugin. Wondering if others use that as well, and whether that is contributing to the issue?

    Try deactivating and/or deleting JetPack.

WPyogi: Before seeing the issues regarding 1and1.com hosting I did remove the jetpack plugin folder, but no luck. I then restored from a copy I downloaded yesterday, and it still didn’t work. At this point, I think I just need to wait out the 1and1.com support ticket.

    Yes, I would agree…

Hi i have been reading all the links, as i have the same problem.

I do not know what these “ticket” things are. Could someone tell me ?

    Are you hosted on 1and1.com?

yes sorry, i am hosted by 1and1.. just don’t know a great deal about all of this

In that case, “tickets” is a support request to 1and1.com – it’s not part of WordPress. You should have a way to contact them in your hosting panel or email or ??

jflangridge: Looking at 1and1’s support Twitter feed, they’re responding to many individuals who are inquiring about the problem with something to the effect, “we’re aware, and we’re working.”

You likely don’t need to submit a trouble ticket to 1and1.com since it doesn’t seem isolated to your account. Unfortunately, we’re all just stuck having to wait it out — whatever it is that caused the issue on their end, until they fix it.

I am experiencing the same issue right now with all my sites through 1&1. They were working fine a few hours ago. However, I am also logged into the admin panel through my laptop and still have full access but cannot log out. Hopefully they resolve this soon.

Our site StartUpLift is hosted with 1and1 as well and I can reconfirm that we are having the same issue as well. Have sent the support request for an ETA. Will let you guys know if I get any updates.

just noticed we’re having the same problem as well, if anyone figures it out please keep us updated.
