I followed these instructions to change the password via myphpadmin and I am still unable to login.
I enter the username and passwrord however it kicks me to the login screen without authenticating me.
I'm at a slight loss of ideas, more are appreciated!

did you do the MD5 option? If not that could be your problem.
The first time I reset I didn't get it set to MD5, i did click go however changed it back again to be correct. It should have only over-written the old string...?... That setting was using 'password' in MD5 and its not working.
Just to note, I did try changing the email address as well then using the reset however it didn't take.
The hosting provider (GoDaddy) informed me that the folder dbboon was placed by an attacker who disabled my access to the website.
I am considering a rebuild at this time to rectify the problem for the customer.
leaving this thread open for a bit simply to hear others thoughts on 'dbboon attack'. I googled yet found very little information regarding it.
