Can no longer upload images since upgrade (3 posts)

    I run two WordPress sites - 'richardbyatt.com' and 'the-shoreline.net'

I've just updated the-shoreline.net to WordPress 3.4.1 using the automatic updater facility on my WordPress site

Unfortunately I no longer seem to be able to upload images - I get this error message:

Unable to create directory /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/the-shoreline.net/httpdocs/wordpress/wp-content/uploads. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

I have not updated richardbyatt.com to 3.4.1 (it's sstill running on 3.3.1) and image uploading is still working fine.

Any idea what's going wrong and how it can be fixed? BTW I'm not familiar with changing settings on my host server. I had expected the upgrade to take care of all that! If all else fails can I downgrade? Thank you.

I've got the same! I have several sites, and the images I loaded last month to the server are all there. But the couple of images I loaded this month are gone. My wordpress auto-updated (on hostgator).

The uploads/2012/07 folder is missing on the server.

If I try and upload to any site, the upload appears to work (no error messages), but the image isn't on the server (viewed through the file system), and even though it is listed in the media library, it has a broken link icon not a thumbnail. If you try and view it it shows that broken link as well.

Any ideas, anyone? I've run another install from within wordpress.

OK, found the answer to my problem, anyway. Doing the upgrade replaced the .htaccess with a standard wordpress one, however I'm running a network so I had to go back and replace the rewrite rules.

    I just copy/pasted from Network Admin/Settings/Network Setup.
