I set up a test WordPress site hosted on my own server space back in June. I used my own MySql details to do so: http://www.onebirddesign.com/wordpress/.

Since then, I created another wordpress site for a client but hosted on wordpress: http://elepharts.wordpress.com/

In setting that one up I used my personal email address, the same one that i used to create my original test site. It generated a new user name and password, but linked to my email, and it appears to have overwritten the account details for the original (and my own!) wordpress site.

So today, when i finally go back to edit the original one, my user name and password don't work, and I can't seem to access the account info for it anymore. When I ask it to resend a new password, it does so, but the password relates to the client's wordpress site, not mine, and it just keeps redirecting me to their dashboard.

So how can I get back into the original wordpress account that I have hosted on my own site ? I really want to turn it into a use-able blog, but its just sitting there and i cant get in!

    Hi

There is no connection between self-hosted WordPress and a wordpress.com site at all, so your problem is probably something else. You can have the same email address as the site email address on 73 different WordPress sites and it will work just fine.

You can change the username and password and email sddress on your self-hosted site by editing the database. See this article for details:
