Can invitation codes prevent registration?

    Greetings,
    I like the look of this plugin, but was wondering if invitation codes can be used to prevent registration. Basically, I want to send codes out in an email response for new newsletter subscribers and prevent registration for anyone who has not subscribed. The code would be static (i.e. one code added to a standard email response sent to all subscribers).
    Is this something the plugin does?
