   Can I used a free closed source flash component in my open source plugin?

   Basicly I want to use an advanced code editor flash component in my plugin, but its closed source. As it's free am I allowed to do that and still have it listed in the plugin directory?

   My whole plugin revolved around this component so I cant really replace it with an open source alternative. I guess if its not allowed I just wont be able to add it to the directory :(

   You can't package it with your plugin. You have to tell the users to download it manually and install it to the plugin directory. NextGen Gallery does this with the flash component they use.
