How do you put the main blog page on page 10 smart guy?

Bah! You need to be a geek to figure out how to use this sh!t……When is website building going to be dummed down for the general public like me?

The hell do I know about HTML and all that crap. All I want is to choose a damn theme-template, than choose page layouts, and click ona few buttons for my site to appear. Too friggin geeky, I might as well check back in 5 years. BAHHHHHHHHHhh

WordPress.org is a self hosted option for more advanced users. It sounds like you’ve chosen the wrong option for your skill level.

If you want the point and click version, try wordpress.COM

    Maybe Squarespace is easier.

Yeah. I agree. Anything that won’t work instantly right out of the box exactly the way I want it to – regardless of whether or not I even actually know what it does – with no training, experience, user motivation, understanding, patience or willingness to learn how or why I should even use it, most definitely must be a piece of crap. If it wasn’t crap, I wouldn’t have to spend more then ten minutes with it before I am a total expert. ‘Yep. It’s a total piece of crap. You should look into PHP-Nuke. That’s what I would do.

ahhhhhhhh there we go, all i had to do was go to settings/reading and select a static page as my front page, couldnt you guys tell me that……..thanx alism i will check out that link also.

Clayton James – don’t give up. WordPress IS easy to use, even for people who don’t know any coding.

Here is the answer to your question:

Ammeker thx a bunch for that link, I was having this problem just now:

    Navigation Bars
Some themes have top navigation bar containing links to Pages. By default most themes set “Home” as a link to the home page – in this case the static front page. Since you have created a separate page with the title “Home”, there is a likelihood of another link text appearing as “Home”.

To change it, edit the appropriate template file featuring the code of the navigation bar with the template tag wp_list_pages. Set the parameters to change the link title.

But when I go in there, it looks like weird science and DNA code to me. WHat the ? Paramter? What are we in Vietname? Out in the bush?

That is what I mean though, anything you try and do is code and PHP and weird science, you need to have a rocket science degree for this sh!t. I just want my mouse to grab a damn menu place here, this sob over there, that sob over here, cmon people make it easy enough for a monkey like me to use.

    @ameeker

I thank you for the words of encouragement, and I truly appreciate your sincerity. I was just being a wise ass. I am very much dedicated to the use of WordPress and actually find it an extremely easy platform to work with. It infuriates me to see/hear people like easywolf32 bitch about WordPress, when I know darn well that there is no way that they could have possibly had enough time to put any real effort at all into learning about how to use it, and have no real basis on which to yet base any foul opinions, …and yet it happens.

On hind-sight, I should have probably just wrapped my post in these…

    <severe sarcasm></severe sarcasm>

    Sorry if I offended!

    🙂
