I was just wondering can I use wordpress as a website as well as a blog at the same time
I would like to have website and a blog on the same wordpress as it will be a business blog. If so how do I go about it.

Is there a difference? The answer is CMS are now set-up that having a Blog and a website (not that they are mutually exclusive) is a simple matter of assigning a PAGE to host your blog posts.
For instance - like the above /shop/. make another page called /blog/ and point your posts to that page...
