Can I use shortlinks to links posts internally?

    I’m not totally clear on the relationship of the post permalink to the short link. If I want to link from inside one post to another existing post, can I use the shortlink? Seems like it would be easier. Otherwise, I manually select the permalink and paste it, but when it’s long, it pastes in with an ellipsis in the middle, and it doesn’t work. Maybe I’m missing something. Thanks.

    I really like the plugin called RB Internal Links. It has a icon on the control bar. It allows you to internal link to posts, pages, and categories.

    You can do it manually if you are a minimalist (likes to keep your plugins to a minimum), but I have found it to be a very handy plugin.
