I'm new(er) to WordPress and am designing a few pro-bono sites to get experience. I'm attempting to show my "client" what I have done so far with the site that I've designed locally; however, is there a way to show her the sites & its functionality without going live?

I'm not sure whether there is a service that can temporarily host local sites as to allow viewing for clients.

    Thanks so much!

  2. Depends what you're using. For example, if you're on a Mac and upgrade to MAMP Pro, you can do what you're asking:

    Allowing external access
With MAMP PRO, you can easily connect your local server with an existing Dynamic DNS provider, as for example dyndns.com. Making it very simple to quickly make the results of your work accessible externally for superiors and prospective customers. And because you can set up many virtual hosts, you can easily offer alternative configurations or suggestions.

Maybe there's something similar out there for one of the PC options.
