Can i share the Content field across sites?

    Each site will have its own header, footer, widget area and a few pages that are unique to that site, for example the About page.

    But i would like to allow each site to share the content area only of the product pages. I want to have only one copy of the product pages (content area) so i only have to update it in one place and all of the sites get the update.

    Unless you use noindex meta tag, what you are trying to do may amount to duplicate content. Read how Google views it here.

    Never thought of that – Thanks.
    Unfortunately i don’t have much choice because these are all dealers that sell the same product line and want their own individual site.

    forgetting Google for the moment, is there a way i can do this?

    Try mirror sites, of which I place a link to Wikipedia here. Several sites such as http://sourceforge.net/ and WikiLeaks have successfully implemented such sites. As I have not tried it, I am not sure about how to create such sites.
