   I'm confused, and would appreciate some help. I want to set up my author's website, but unsure how to go about it in WordPress. I have begun a blog: bonemachines.wordpress.org, but it's not really how I want to proceed.

   I know there are other authors with wordpress-based sites, and WordPress mentions websites. But I can't understand where I need to go to go about this. I am non-technical, so an idiot's guide would be a huge help.

   Do you mean bonemachines.wordpress.COM?

   But yes, you can use WordPress as a 'CMS' (content management system). What is it that you try to make? I personally don't regard my website as "blog", since it's not a "weblog" or "logbook" of any kind. It works about the same though, so that's the reason I ask what it is that you try to accomplish.

   There are also threads on this forum about WP sites that don't look likes "blogs", one very long one, but I can't find it right now. Matt gives you some professional examples, the forums might give you some more ideas.
