Upgrade instructions (from 1.5.1.2 to 1.5.1.3) say that it’s not necessary to run: upgrade.php

question: what happens if I run upgrade.php

Is it going to create problems? Delete vital information on my database?

I’m asking because I don’t know if the translation is going to be activated after the upgrade without running any scripts.

  • The upgrade just checks the database – it does not affect anything else and you do not need to run it between your versions.

Ok, so you think that if the problem with the translation (WP is in English after moving to new server) is not likely to be fixed running with upgrade.php

i just thought that it might help fix this. is it a bad idea?

Upgrade does not change what you have as a problem.
It checks the database tables, rows and fields and as far as I know and have experienced, it does not change what is actually in those areas.
