I am working with the Blixed 1.0 theme, see here (www.np2020.org), and want to delete my custom image header. I'm not liking the restraints and would rather just post some logos and text in that space on my own. Does anyone have a fix for this? I've looked up fixes for other themes and can't get them to work.

That's not an official WP theme, by the looks of your "un"link. That aside I can see no reason you couldn't edit the applicable php file or stylesheet to insert whatever header image you want.
