   Hi,

   Is it possible to preview a site without it being 'live', I don't want to go live yet but need to see how my development is going.

   you can install it locally
   http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/xampp/

   or you could create a /test folder on your webserver - get it ready - then move it when ready

   Or you could use the maintenance mode plugin too (depending on how you're developing of course).

   I have tried installing the maintenance mode plugin above. I activated it, but it is not taking effect. Any suggestions?
