Following up on my post above, I was finally able to accomplich the task. I found the following statement on your website “How do I add an image to the page and not have it in the gallery? Upload it in the media section and select it though the media library tab.”

However, I had tried that before and every time I inserted the image in the page, it would reattach to the page and sho in the gallery.

Here is the solution I came up with:
    1. Uploade the image, insert it into page.
    2. Then go to gallery, delete image
    3. Save page. You’ll show a broken image
    4. Go the media library and upload image again. Then it will show as unattached and display in your page but not in the gallery.

Any other way I tried ended up with the image tied to the page and then showing in the gallery.

Or you could upload it in the media section and select it though the media library tab.

There is also a short code to exclude images.

Thank you Dean, I will try the shortcode. Uploading through the media library and selecting through the media tab did not work for me. It would Only after deleting and uploading again, would the image stay unattached. I guess you could also had code the path to the image but I trying to find a solution that I can show my customers who do not know code.

Images are only attached to a post if they are uploaded on that post.

Uploading in the media section ( click media in the main admin menu ) will not attach the image to a post 🙂
