Can any helpful person tell me how to make my video appear larger the standard 320x240 size on my blog?

it sort of depends on your theme and it's main box size - some themes allow larger than others - play with the size until it breaks your blog - then you'll know how big you can go

or find a larger main box theme

edit - I just looked and you are putting it in the sidebar - same logic applies

It is the video on this blog http://recessionmarketingmasterclass.com that I am trying to make larger.

I have played with the size time and again and it never changes the size of the video.

Do you have a suggestion for a theme that will allow the blog to be larger?

I don't really want to change the theme. That would be a last resort. I simply want to know how to make the video larger withing what is already a quite large area.

well...good luck - you've already skewed the sidebar with your sign up button...
maybe someone else will have a suggestion

not to mention you have introduced an inordinate amount of errors in a short time.

Should you be a moderator if you adopt such an unhelpful attitude?

Look at the code where the <object> tag is. You need to change the height an width in at least two locations, not just one.

It looks like the original video is 256x320 and you changed those specs in one location, but need to do it in one or two other locations between that <object> tag.

The width of the WP standard theme looks to be 760 px, and I think that the main column is set at 450 px wide, so I think you should be able to go up to 435 px wide if you'd like.

And yes, you may have some issues due to the fixed width images if you put them into divs that are set in the CSS sheet to be narrower than the image you drop in there.

I'm no expert, but you may want to check out the CSS structure and how that is put together so you know what your limitations are concerning widths of objects - including video.

I bent over backwards helping you - so what's really bugging you?

You did ask samboll for a suggestion on a theme, he went out and found something, then you said you did not want to change the theme.

You've made significant changes to the files that resulted in a great number of HTML errors, maybe start again with the default theme - fresh install?

Thank you Steve that was helpful. I have changed the sizes in three places in the page html code but the video is still the same size.

I looked through the CSS files but I could not find anything about objects.

Do you have any idea where to look?

    Hi Samboll

You did not answer my question which was simply how to make the video larger. You then introduced two red herrings about other themes and inordinate amount of errors.

The whole point of a forum is to get questions answered that one cannot find answers to elsewhere. Not to get surperfluous information.

    That was what bugged me.

    Not to get surperfluous information.

Errors are not superfluous - such as skewing the blog in IE (most of your visitors). I was trying to be helpful and help you for the future.

Also, the default theme is the most complicated out there for making changes.
