I have my blog installed in the root directory of my sites.

Using SPF plugin, even the forum is under WP control.

Now, my sites are really just a collection of static pages and don't really exploit WP potential as a blogging platform.

However, I have come up with the need for a real blog. Why should I utilize any other blogging platform than WP?

The problem is, If I eneble the blogging features the blog appear at the site's root, not at /blog which is the place where I want it to go.

How do I keep the site based on the root yet the blog on a subdirectory?

I have searched the net. It tells me how to do the reverse, that is to have your blog appear at root level but have the WP installed under a subdirectory, which is not what I want.

    This is what I want:

    http://example.com/page1/
    http://example.com/page1/subpage1/
    http://example.com/page1/subpage2/
    http://example.com/forum/
    http://example.com/blog/
    http://example.com/blog/*permalink*
    http://example.com/page2/

I want it all controlled by WP. I have even the forum controlled by the SPF plugin, which is already done.

    Can this be done?

    Thanks a lot.

the easiest way to accomplish this is to use a static front page
    admin - settings - reading
then create an empty page tiled "Blog" and assign it as your posts page
    admin - settings - reading

the other option IS to install wordpress in a folder "/blog" and link to it in your header or sidebar from root site
