• I’m completely new to WordPress so please be gentle with me!

Not a problem so much as a question.

I plan on having two different blogs on my site – one for graphics, and one more political. It seems unlikely that many people will want to see both of these, so to me the obvious answer would be to have separate blogs.

    * Can I do this with WordPress?
    * Would they need to have the same theme?
    * Would I need anything special on my host beyond a basic WordPress install?

    Thanks,
    Nick

  • * Can I do this with WordPress?

Yes. In fact there are a number of ways this could be achieved.

    * Would they need to have the same theme?

No. Not if you had two completely separate installs (eg one in root and another in a sub-folder.

Would I need anything special on my host beyond a basic WordPress install?

Just a second basic install. 🙂

OK, that sounds easy enough – I hope that the “one click” install also lets me choose a folder!

Yes, you can install 2 WordPress in a site. But I think that It will not good for SEO. Google will not prefer different topics in same domain.
