Hi,
I'm looking to create a template for certain posts to use that basically changes the entire page of the site. Is there a way to do that?
What I'm looking for is a way to do this just like you can with a page template, or even category templates, but I haven't found any way to do this yet.
What I'd like to do is copy single.php, name it whatever.php, then be able to apply that to certain posts...is that possible?
TIA!!
Not really. You can have single templates based on category - but not arbitrarily chosen. At least, I don't remember anything like that.

ugh, that seems odd doesn't it?
wordpress is mostly used for POSTS why in the world can't I apply a template just like I can for pages or categories?
very, very annoying (but I think you are correct). any ideas how to hack something like this? I'm not a coder, but I'll hire one if it can be done.
I'm really amazed, this has to be a common request...

No, it is not. Bloggers prefer consistency...
