   If I wanted to write posts ahead or change a post date ahead or back, I could with previous versions, but I see no way to do it with 2.5

   Click on the Edit link next to "Publish immediately" above the "Save" & "Publish" buttons.

   and if you are editing a post: under publish status, there is an edit link beside the published on date. click that.
