This is my companies website, our member of staff who recently left never left us the username and password for the site. So we are unable to make crucial changes.

Is there any way of resetting the username and password for my site?

    Any help very appreciated

    Hi,

Login using admin login detail, and you are able to change username and password of any user.

I'm assuming you are the owner of the domain name and hosting, I think you will need to contact your hosting company and go into the database via C Panel and change password, obviously an ex- employee having access as an admin is not a good idea. Once you've changed password you can log in as admin and could auto upgrade, you're currently wordpress 2.8
    good luck.

In the first instance the employee who left should give you the password.

Once you have the details of how to log into the hosting control panel you need to use phpMyAdmin to go into the database and view the options tables & reset the password for the admin user

Hi jonboy2010 glad you contacted your host. Once you get the password reset it shouldn't affect your site. At the moment the most important thing is maintaining the integrity of your database.
Excellent link to codex from cubecolour, if you're in doubt about using
phpMyAdmin you may need to ask for some help.
Once you are back in, make sure you have a backup of your database.
    Good Luck again.
