I want to host several blogs on my webspace with only one database but different subdomains and individual users. Is this possible?

  2. Yes, you can have multiple WordPress installations in the same MySQL database. You just need to make sure that each installation has a different table prefix set in wp-config.php:

$table_prefix = 'wp_'; <-- change "wp" to something suitable for each separate blog.

When you run install.php, WordPress will create a fresh set of tables with the prefix you specify for each blog. Each blog will be completely independent of the others.

    Hi LesBessant!

Question: How can I access the separate blogs? I couldn't find them?

    Thx!
    Markus

  4. You have to upload the WordPress files to the locations where you want them - just follow the usual installation instructions. Each blog is a separate installation of WordPress, the only thing that's shared is the database.
