Hi all,
I'm looking to create a website where friends and I can write our own film reviews in a wordpress blog. It would be nice if we can have a way to have a rating system that create two seperate types of "star ratings": one for the author of the review and one that any public reader can vote.
Is this possible? I noticed that the plugin GD Star Rating is very elaborate, but slightly confuses me.
In addition, it would also be nice to have widget which can list the top review films, in order of highest rank. Can GD Star Rating also accomplish this?

Thanks Milan - I have installed the plugin and it's been very helpful. One problem however, it seems that the widget can only display the top "ratings" when I'm looking for it to only show "review" votes.
Am I missing something here or can it not do this yet?
All rendering is controlled with templates (T2 panel), and you need to make a template that will display what you need. You can check tutorials on official website.

I think I've found a simple solution - just make the widget only show ratings by users, and then ensure the author clicks the same review score after posting.
However, all I need from this plugin now is to remove the text "(1 vote)" from each entry of the widget. How can I do this from the template?

UPDATED: Okay I've created my own template which removes the code that displays (1 vote)...how so I make the widget use my template?

Nevermind! After much persistence it's resolved! Great plugin Milan!
I know that some aspects of plugin can be complicated, but once you get the way it works you see how logical and powerful it is. And you will be able to create much complex display of all kinds of ratings plugin can collect. Great to see that you have find solution and it's working the way you need it.
