    Hi,

I was wondering if there is a plugin for 2.8.6 for this:

I am bulding a wordpress site for a friend and I want him to have control of posts and the basic editor features that arew aloud. Now what I want to know is…Can I have an editor see the users of the site…my concern is that he wants to know who his users are so he can add or delete users at will.

    The other option is:
Can I assign someone as an administrator but not alow them to mess with the word press configuration including adding plugins and such. I don’t want him to mess up the site.

Basicly I guess I need a plugin to alow someone to monitor the users.

    Thanks

  • Easiest way to see what an editor can do is create a new user, give that user the Editor role, then login and see what you can do.

You may need to use something like the Role Manager or Role Scoper or Members or Capability Manager plugins as described in the Roles and Capabilities article under Resources.

Thank You very much, I ended up adding capability manager on 2.8.6 and it worked. It said it wasnt test on 2.8.6 b did it anyway and took the chance.

    Thanks Again,
    Brian

Just FYI: The last number in WordPress versions, is only a bugfix version.
If a plugin works with 2.8 or 2.8.3, it will with 2.8.6 as only bugfixes have been introduced). This is the case of 99% of plugins.

I think is not worth to make a new plugin version just to change the last tested version. It will make a lots of people to update for nothing, as just the supported version is changed.

Anyway, when WordPress will change from 2.8.x to 2.9, then a test is really a must and the compatibility widget on the plugin page can help others to see that it worked for you.

So, I suggest you to set always if a plugin worked for you with your WordPress version. This will help a lot of other users and make developers life a bit easier.
