  • I’m sorry but as you are using a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s vendors.

Am I not allowed to ask about commercial themes on this forum?

We do not support commercial themes here as you paid for support when you bought the theme. It is not our place to keep theme vendors in business or deprive them of any income that they may derive from support services.

Sure, but this is community forum no? Perhaps other users of the theme will have some experience they can offer? Or am I not allowed to ask about commercial themes on this forum?

My friend bought this theme for his website and apparently the vendor does not offer support. The vendor is creating a user forum but it’s not up and running yet.

I am sorry that your friend chose to buy a theme before checking out the level of support first but that’s really not our problem. We do not have access to commercial themes and we are not here to support developers who are only interested in theme profits and not theme support.

Okay, but you’re not answering my question.

Am I not allowed to ask about a commercial theme, can you point me to the rule where it says this? Who is “we”? Is that the people running wordpress.org or are you talking on behalf of everyone who uses this forum, including myself?

We = the volunteers who answer questions on these forums.

Christiaan I presume you’re attempting to add pictures to the post you mentioned. Maybe there is an option to add these by clicking the insert media button above the WordPress content box

Another thing to look out for is a custom fields box while editing/creating the post, this could be anything from a small icon like the insert media icon. Or a whole panel below or to the right of the content entry

Fine, okay Esmi, but I wasn’t “pressing” anybody to help me and that page explicitly says “If someone wants to help, that is fine.” You actually gave me factually wrong advice by saying “you need to seek support from the theme’s vendors.”

For anyone else who has this problem:
You have to go into the Theme Options and click “Save Changes” to activate the settings (even if you haven’t made any changes).

Thanks Craig, appreciate your suggestions. All sorted though, as per my previous post 🙂
