• In my WordPress installation, only the Administrator can go to WRITE >> PAGE

Contributors, Authors, and Editors do not see PAGE available when they WRITE, they only see POST.

I would like other users to be able to write pages, and for these pages to be administrated in the same way posts are administered (i.e. only the Administrator can publish them). Is this possible?

I’m trying to get WordPress to act like a CMS for a small IT Helpdesk, where posts are reserved for emergency news bulletins, and pages are used for static HOW-TO documents which non-admin users can create and update.

  • Yes and no.

The long version: Depending on your settings you can give any user the capability to create/write new Pages.
The easiest way to do it, use the Role Manager plugin:

However, Pages do NOT have “draft” status, so it is impossible to let a user the write a Page for an Admin to publish.
