Can admin need to approve authors posting?

    Dunno if Im posting in right forum but my issue:

    I have different authors and I wanna approve their posts before they got published. I have tried “User Role Editor” where I have removed “publish_posts” but when they try to write a post with for example WordPress iPhone app 3.3 it only says “error” when they try publish. If they go to the settings in the post and change to “waiting approvement” (or what it says in english) then I (the admin) can see their “pre-post” under my posts (not published) BUT I wont get notified (like with mail when a user posts a comment)…

    I need help with this =).

    What I want is when the writer/author press “publish” I wanna get a mail or something that I need to approve the post (just like comments)..

    Possible? (sorry for my bad english)
